What You'll Do Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain marine engines and vessel systems Perform service on outboard, gas, diesel, and sterndrive Conduct engine diagnostics, electrical testing, repowers, rigging, and annual maintenance Perform oil changes, impeller replacements, cooling system service, steering repairs, and hydraulic work Complete detailed inspection reports and repair recommendations Safely operate customer vessels for testing and inspections What We're Looking For Proven marine repair experience for more than two years. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with outboard, gas, and diesel engines, marine electrical systems, and engine computer diagnostics AC/DC testing equipment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Professional communication skills and strong attention to detail Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Mercury, Suzuki, ABYC, NMEA, or other manufacturer certifications helpful Factory marine engine training helpful Multi-line dealership experience helpful Physical Requirements This role requires working in marine environments, including lifting up to 59 lbs., climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, working in confined spaces, and performing duties outdoors in varying weather conditions while following all safety procedures and PPE requirements. Diversified Yacht Services is seeking an experienced Marine Diesel & Propulsion Technician to join our team at one of the most advanced marine service facilities in Southwest Florida. If you're passionate about marine repair, enjoy solving complex mechanical problems, and want to work on everything from outboards to yachts, we want to hear from you! In this role, you will perform diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, rebuilds, installations, and repowers on marine diesel engines, generators, propulsion systems, and related vessel equipment. This position requires independent troubleshooting, use of computer-based diagnostic tools, and adherence to ABYC standards and manufacturer specifications. What We're Looking For Proven marine repair experience for more than two years. Factory training and marine certifications helpful. Experience with Volvo, Yanmar, Westerbeke, Fischer Panda, and similar systems helpful. Strong knowledge of marine diesel powerplants, running gear, thru-hulls, and vessel maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs independently. Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record. Must provide personal tools required for diagnostics and repairs. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability. Professional attitude and appearance. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, management, parts personnel, and customers. Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail. What You'll Do Diagnose, maintain, repair, and rebuild marine diesel engines and generators. Perform running gear, propulsion system, and auxiliary system repairs. Utilize OEM technical manuals, schematics, and online resources. Conduct vessel system testing, inspections, and sea trials as needed. Maintain detailed service documentation and repair recommendations. Safely operate customer vessels for testing and transport purposes.
