Job Description

The Service Assistant works closely with the Service Manager and Coordinator to open and close work orders, communicate with customers and vendors and assist in scheduling work to be completed on customer’s vessels while maintaining the highest level of customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and close work orders and send to customers
  • Assist the Coordinators with customer communication
  • Participate in weekly task meeting
  • Maintain client files
  • Assist with the coordination of vessel shipping and communicate with clients, accordingly
  • Assist with obtaining estimates, scheduling, and communication between subcontractors and the Coordinator and Service Manager
  • Assist with updating and maintaining the scheduling
  • Schedule and arrange travel for technician training
  • Assist with marketing efforts including advertising and preparing for and participating in boat and trade shows
  • Assist with phones and walk in customers when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements:

  • Two years clerical/administrative experience, boat trade experience helpful
  • Two years’ experience in a customer service facing role
  • One year experience in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate both in writing and in person with a diverse clientele
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with a diverse employment staff
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Strong computer and typing skills and ability to work effectively in Word and Excel documents
  • Knowledge of the boat trade
  • Physical requirements are ability to bend, squat, stoop, crawl, and kneel and ability to occasionally lift 25 lbs. to lift office supplies
